    Monthly Club Update

    posted 20 hours ago

We are waiting once more, to hear back from the Corp about our road permission.
At the Corp request, we sent in additional signed documents a couple weeks ago, hopefully hear back soon.

The club picnic tables have a fresh coat of stain on them so they should hold up a long time yet.
My wife and I purchased the stain, then I flew why she stained the tables for us.  Yea sounds mean, but she actually likes doing that kind of stuff and was glad to help out.

As most of you know, we had to let go of the mowing crew we used to hire due to their raise in prices.
We just could not sustain the higher price and have any money left over to build a road.
So far, we have been lucky to have the grass cut by a few of our members, but not sure how long they can continue doing it all.
If anyone has a nice size mower and they can get to the field, it would be really appreciated by the club to help out.
Send me an email and let me know if you would like to help out with the grass.  We can talk about making a schedule soon if the volunteers can continue.
Thank you to Mike C., Thomas C., Steve S., Dan C. with help keeping it cut so far.  Appreciated big time.

There have been a few people I hear mention about getting a porta-pottie. That would be so nice.
I really wish we could, because all of a sudden we have had a pooper now a couple weeks in a row.
That's right, someone who is so nasty to squat right behind our picnic table area and leave a pile of crap and paper towels where they wiped on the ground.  WOW!!
I just hope that if the Corp catches them, it's not someone we might know.
We have visitors, our wives and children coming out there, and to see that. Ugh.

    Anyway, on the portables.
The issue there again is the cost to the club.  Expensive.  Maybe sometime in the future it can be looked at again.
As of now, we are currently trying to save money anyway we can so the club can get the road they have always needed.
As always there are restrooms at the bottom of the hill or around a couple corners further in the park.

Reminder, we do have a day scheduled for the club to meet up and enjoy a little social time and have good food to eat.
Club Day on August the 8th.  There are several members that are planning to start early and fly most of the day.
The food will start in the afternoon with a club meeting while we eat or right after depending on what the group prefers.
We can discuss the topics I mentioned above or any other topics you would like to talk about with the club officers that will be there.

    East Fork Lease Agreement

    posted 5 months ago

    All,

Exciting news!!!! We have been granted a five year lease agreement from the Corps of Engineers (COE). This is a huge milestone that has taken several years to get done. It is our hope, that with this lease agreement, we can start the conversations again about the path/driveway to the shelter. Please keep in mind that there are no guarantees but we are doing everything within our power to make it happen.
