    Dynam BF-110 Big Bird

    posted 2 months ago

    The Dynam BF-110 Destroyer

Dynam BF-110 is one of those birds that nobody makes and you have a company that makes great great airframes and some nice looking planes but the electronics  are kinda crap and needs you to replace ESCs or retracts. Well those days appear to be behind Dynam now at least with the Retracts as mine worked below the magical 50 degree mark!

The Plane used stickers which is a hit and miss, with the P-61 Black Widow they were crappy decals that peeled off, over all the paint is good but my biggest gripe is the Flaps were bowed so the fit is not the best unless you work with it, as I said before Dynam is a builders plane so don't expect a totally awesome plane

right out of the box, some actual building is required. Now another issue I found with this bird is the fact it was designed for a 2200 4c battery, it won't work with la larger battery due to the frame size and the plastic ring which it would be possible to drimal it out to go a slight larger battery. The 2200 4c batteries that came out when the plane

first came out so they were heavy batteries compared to the newer ones made today. So the choice you have is add weight to the front or widen the the battery bay so trust me adding weight helps the plane take off and land.

I took the tail wheel from a wrecked TU-152H and replaced the wire tailwheel, not only does it look better but looking at the original plane in pictures I see that is what they are actually using!!

The first flights were interesting as I was flying on high rates, this is also when I found out that the plane was slightly tail heavy, this is why I said you need to add some weight to the front, 3 ounces , maybe 4 but it flies good, more nose weight I feel will help with the any sudden climbs and you wonder if it's going to stall, the plane has the power to remove itself

from that happening but make sure to add the weight or larger battery to solve the issue.

Take off is straight and the flight is good and landing was easy just don't try to land in rough ground or you will nose it over hard.

    Build time- 3 hours +

    Fun Factor- 7

    Pucker factor-5

worth the time and money- YES!!!

    Flightline TU-152H “Dora”

    TU-152H.jpg

If you love warbirds then this one should be in your collection, it can run on 3S or 4S (2500 50c) and I wanted to give some tips on this bird.

    1. make sure to have the CG correct or else a number of things BAD will happen if you don't like a high speed Stall, yes there is a such thing
    2. The manual calls for the throws are too high, the low rate is the starting point with 30% Expo on everything but if you like to live dangerous then Ailerons go 80%
    3. Very stable at high speed and yes it does have some good speed and a mean sound going by.
    4. Use flaps as the Manual states on travel
    5. Make sure you charge your battery 100% and don't do the dumb thing like I did and took off at 90%- this came back to haunt me 4:30 seconds later.
    6. DO NOT land slow unless you like to tip stall
    7. Bring her in with power all the way down to the ground and the mains touch pavement then cut power and hold the elevator to keep it from faceplanting the prop into the ground.

Now take off was a slow power feed to half power and it should be off the ground by then so climb up and increase throttle and raise flaps and gear, the plane can be touchy until you find the sweet spot.

I used the Lemon 7 channel with stabilizer until I felt the plane was dialed in 100% but I believe it truly felt right and you can shut off the stab.

Over all unique plane that lives up to fast and edgy but fun as hell to fly.

    Fun Factor 10

Cost around $235 at Motion RC.

    EFlite A-10 64mm

    The E-Flite A-10 Warthog V2

    a-10a.jpg

The E-flite A-10 is one of those Iconic planes that flies with a rock steady, turn on the dime and buzz the field that you come to flying the real bird! I flew with some of the ordinance under the wings to see how the maiden would go and I was not disappointed with the rotation up, landing gear up and she was already at 3/4 throttle when I decided to fly her slow around the field, this bird can fly slow but it will be happy fast as the A-10 is setup for 6 Cell battery so the power is there, I had the CG almost perfect but nose heavy which was find as this bird was happy either way, after 4 minutes of flight time I decided to land her. Lowered the flaps and made my approach which was almost perfect with one hop!  (First A-10 I had flown in 4-5 years) over all I would recommend this A-10 if you want a nice flyer that looks the part, turns like the real one and landing all as a A-10 should..Bad to Bone and Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

    Model build and quality-10

    Fun Factor - 8

Cost - Always tell the wife it's lower than you paid, mine was standing right next to me when I forked out $425 for mine LOL!!

Enjoy and hopefully video in the next flight is coming
